An immersive art museum where visitors wade through water lit by projected koi, lie in a mirrored room under a universe of falling flowers and push through a cushioned hall where the floor gives way. teamLab Planets opened in 2018 and expanded in 2025 with a forest and a sports-themed wing, making it one of the most photographed interiors on earth. Its sibling Borderless moved to Azabudai, but Planets keeps the water and the body-first approach.
The visit takes about two hours. Arrive early for your slot, store everything in a locker and go in with bare feet and a charged phone. The koi vanish into flowers when you touch them, which is the moment everyone comes for.
Tips
- You walk barefoot through knee-deep water, so wear trousers that roll up or borrow the shorts provided free at the lockers
- Book timed tickets online weeks ahead, and take the first morning slot or the last evening one for thinner crowds
- It is in Toyosu, a stop from Shin-Toyosu on the Yurikamome line, not on the Odaiba island itself
